Opa was tachtig, fysiek nog heel sterk
Ging elke zondag te voet van huis naar kerk

Maar op een dag besliste kleinzoon, opa was te oud

Aan verzorging had opa beslist geen gebrek
Drie maal daags een maaltijd en soms een kort gesprek
Maar opa miste zijn huisje, zijn raam, en zijn straat
De buurt waarin zijn leven ligt, daar waar zijn huisje staat

Maar kleinzoon is gelukkig in dat huisje in die leuke buurt
